Job Description – Sr. Counsel, Government & Regulatory Enforcement, Investigations and
The Government Enforcement practice group manages and handles complex government and
regulatory enforcement actions and internal investigations across all lines of business,
including the retail and corporate banks, the asset management group, and the retail and
institutional broker dealers. It additionally supports the AML/BSA and Enterprise Compliance
functions, as well as provides day-to-day advice to the lines of business. The lawyer who fills
this position will manage and handle those matters, and support those functions and
Specific Areas of Experience/Expertise Required of the Position
Expertise handling government and regulatory enforcement actions that involve civil
and criminal inquiries directed at large corporations operating in highly regulated
Experience interacting with management of a complex business.
General knowledge of financial services law, including, particularly rules, regulations,
and practices of the CFPB, SEC, FINRA, and OCC is preferred.
Experience as a federal prosecutor and knowledge of AML/BSA strongly preferred
Identifies and manages legal risk for the organization.
Performs significant and complex legal work and regularly interacts with management.Oversees
legal research, analysis, consultation and documentation within a framework of legal compliance
and risk management.
Leads outside counsel relationships and manages expenses.
Networks with outside organizations to advance legal interests and legal health of the corporation
and its industry.
