In Memory of Congressman Elijah Cummings
We mourn the loss of Congressman Elijah Cummings. Our nation has lost a true hero. An awe inspiring beacon of light, Congressman Cummings represented the city of Baltimore in Congress with grace and determination for nearly a quarter century. “He worked until his last breath because he believed our democracy was the highest and best expression of our collective humanity,” in the words of his wife, Dr. Maya Rockeymoore Cummings. May we each strive to carry on the legacy of this great and humble man who brought courage, compassion, vision and integrity to the cause of public service in the constant pursuit of justice.
