BOSTON, MA, February 5, 2016.  — The Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association (“MBLA”) today announced that the MBLA, in collaboration with the Boston Police Department and other community service organizations, is hosting a Know Your Rights! Youth and Adult Forum on Friday, February 26, 2016 and Saturday, February 27, 2016, respectively, at Lena Park Community Center, 150 American Legion Highway, Dorchester, MA 02124.  The two programs will feature panelists from the Boston community, including civil rights leaders, law enforcement officials, and members of the legal community.

Youth Forum

The MBLA has identified several prevalent issues impacting youth of color in grades 6 through 12 and has developed a program focused on positive interactions with law enforcement, stop and frisk, cyber-bullying and unhealthy teen relationships (domestic violence).  This interactive program will allow youth to come together and voice concerns and personal experiences in these areas, gain knowledge on how to deal with these issues and collectively develop strategies and a plan of action on how to deal with these issues.
