On October 16, 2012, the MBLA partnered with the Boston Foundation to host a community forum entitled “Boston Informed- Knowledge is Power” at the Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center in Roxbury. This community forum presented the results of the Boston Indicators Project and panelists discussed current educational and economic trends impacting Boston residents and solutions and strategies for competing in our new global economy. City Councillor Tito Jackson served as the moderator and the panelists included Darnell Williams, President/CEO of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts; Queon Jackson, Headmaster of Madison Park Technical Vocational High School; and Fred Jones, Legislative Associate at the Alliance for Excellent Education.
