Biography

Avana A. Epperson-Temple is a litigation attorney at Peabody & Arnold LLP where she concentrates her practice in the areas of professional liability, insurance coverage litigation and business litigation. She frequently represents professionals and business owners against allegations of negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract. Ms. Epperson-Temple has obtained favorable judgments in multiple jury trials at the state court level and has also successfully argued multiple appeals before the Massachusetts Appeals Court.

 

In addition to her practice at Peabody & Arnold LLP, Ms. Epperson-Temple serves on the Board of Directors of Pine Street Inn, New England’s leading provider of housing, shelter, street outreach and job training to homeless individuals. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Associate Board of the Anti-Defamation League, a civil rights organization founded to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment for all. Ms. Epperson-Temple also serves as a pro bono attorney for the Women’s Bar Foundation’s Family Law Project where she represents survivors of domestic violence in family law and restraining order matters. Ms. Epperson-Temple was recognized by Get Konnected! as one of Boston’s Most Influential Millennials of Color in 2018 and she was named an Up & Coming Lawyer by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in 2020. In 2021, she was recognized as one of Emory University’s Top 40 Under 40 Alumni and she received the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award for her demonstrated outstanding character, leadership, legal achievement, and contribution to the community.
