The President’s Climate Action Plan and Executive Order released on November 1, 2013, require EPA to prepare the United States for the impacts of climate change through promoting strong partnerships at all levels, to support local government, and to include climate adaptation in EPA’s planning.  This position will be the climate adaptation coordinator and will assist the New England federal partners group to coordinate planning for climate impacts regionally, assist with outreach to communities, coordinate implementation of EPA Region 1’s climate adaptation plan.  The incumbent will work with HQs offices to be consistent with the national climate action plan.

This position is with the Office of Environmental Measurement and Evaluation (OEME).  OEME provides monitoring, analytical support, data assessment, and quality assurance support for all of EPA’s programs.  OEME operates out of the New England Regional Laboratory — a 70,000 square foot facility on 12-acres that includes state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and systems, office space for approximately 85 personnel, conference space, and a secure vehicle and boat storage area.  The Specialist assists the Facility Manager with all facility-related needs including: facility repairs and maintenance, fleet operation, capital inventory control, security, and construction. Compiles and provides historical data to assist staff with the budget formulation, building energy consumption, and fleet usage. Tracks bankcard use and reconciles accounts.
