The National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) seeks to hire a recent law school graduate as a Law Fellow on a full-time basis for a one-year period to begin in the early fall of 2015 through August 31, 2016. No prior legal experience is required. The one-year appointment is not intended to be renewed or extended. The Law Fellow will benefit from broad exposure to the wide variety of issues in the field of higher education law and will be involved in a variety of projects that span the breadth of this practice area. He or she will be assigned research and other projects, including daily reviews of cases and other developments related to higher education law and preparation of corresponding summaries. In addition, he or she will respond to research requests submitted by NACUA members. The Law Fellow will report directly to the Director of Legal Resources, but will also receive assignments from additional full-time attorneys at NACUA. The position requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. The successful candidate must possess superior research, writing and communication skills, the ability to work collegially and collaboratively with members and staff colleagues, the ability to handle multiple and competing priorities with minimal supervision, and a demonstrated interest in higher education law. The salary for this position is $50,000, and the position includes full benefits.
