Overview:

The mission of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation.

This position is located in the Denver Regional Office, in Denver, CO. In this position you will serve as a senior trial attorney applying expert knowledge and providing legal support for the accomplishment of the SEC’s mission.

Typical duties include:                                                                       

  • Provides expert advice for the conduct of litigation of the most complex SEC cases in a specialized area of law.
  • Heads a team of professionals researching the interpretations of statutes and rules, developing arguments addressing highly complex legal and factual issues, preparing complicated documents, conducting hearings or fact findings, dealing with opposing counsel, presenting oral arguments, and arguing or supervising others arguing the cases.
  • Provides leadership for the team and is the chief advocate for the SEC throughout the course of the litigation.
