Overview:

The mission of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation.

The position is in the Office of the Managing Executive (OME) and will lead OCIE’s Office of Technology Services in the DC Office.

The selected candidate will be assigned to the OME and will serve as a supervisor and as a senior advisor providing information technology advice, counsel, and recommendations for a highly sophisticated and advanced area involving the securities market and SEC operations.

Typical duties include:                                                                       

  • Supervising and managing OCIE’s technology staff and operations of OCIE’s Technology Office.
  • Coordinating with the Agency’s CIO and OIT concerning all examination program IT systems, projects, requirements and needs. Represents OCIE’s technology interests, needs and requirements in Agency-level decision-making, including in particular with the Agency’s OIT.
  • Developing and implementing IT strategic plans. Ensuring effective integration of examination systems and technology with other agency Divisions and Offices.
  • Developing and coordinating national technology expertise through the training of examination staff in technology and systems development issues and engaging regional office staff with knowledge and expertise in the assessment, planning, development, designing and implementation of IT systems, hardware, software, data delivery, handling, storage, retrieval, analysis and connectivity issues.
