Primary Duties: Serve as primary attorney in the office defending the public in adverse title claims and seeking enforcement of the public’s rights in public land. Representation and defense of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, its agencies, and employees in other civil lawsuits, including tort, contract, eminent domain, employment, and civil rights cases. Maintain an active caseload, including assuming responsibility for drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing and arguing dispositive motions, and trying cases in the Land and Superior and Courts.

Position Requirements: Minimum 5 of years of relevant civil litigation experience is required of all candidates.   Significant experience handling real estate litigation preferred. Strong academic credentials as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Seeking individuals who are highly motivated and who desire to work in a fast paced public sector law office. Prior legal experience in at least one of the following substantive areas is preferred : personal injury, contracts, eminent domain, civil rights, or employment matters. Valid Massachusetts driving license is required. Individual must be a member of the Massachusetts bar.
