Primary Duties: Representation and defense of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, its agencies and employees, in a wide variety of civil lawsuits including tort, contract, eminent domain, employment and civil rights cases. Maintain an active case load including assuming responsibility for drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing and arguing dispositive motions and trying cases in the Superior and Federal Courts.

Position Requirements: Minimum 5 of years of relevant civil litigation experience is required of all candidates. Strong academic credentials as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Seeking individuals who are highly motivated and who desire to work in a fast paced public sector law office. Prior legal experience in at least one of the following substantive areas is preferred: personal injury, contracts, land use issues, eminent domain, civil rights or employment matters. Valid Massachusetts driving license is required. Individual must be a member of the Massachusetts bar and the federal bar for the USDC of Massachusetts.
