Sean Bernard – Director

Sean Bernard is a trial attorney for the Massachusetts Child Welfare Agency—Department of Children and Families– in Lawrence, MA, where he has practiced for 10 years. Prior to his practice with the Department, Sean was a trial attorney with the law firm Reed and Giordano, PA, a Boston-based boutique law firm that specializes in business law and estate planning.

Mr. Bernard attended Andrews University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, and New England School of Law where he obtain his Juris Doctorate.

Ethnically, Mr. Bernard is Jamaican, though he was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and has lived in Boston for over 20 years.

He enjoys working in both his local community and the legal community and especially values his work with the National Black Law Student Association and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers.

When he is not volunteering or advocating on behalf of children, Mr. Bernard enjoys reading, cooking, politics, competitive tennis, being an adoptive parent and parenting his two boys—Christian (12) and Sean (16) – to whom he is a single father.

Mr. Bernard is a resident of Andover, MA and enjoys traveling. In fact, he has traveled extensively to more than fifteen countries across the world.
