South Coastal Counties Legal Services (SCCLS), a non-profit legal services program providing free civil legal assistance to eligible low-income and elderly clients in Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands, seeks two to three experienced attorneys admitted to practice in Massachusetts, to represent clients with family, housing and/or benefits issues. The positions will be located on our Hyannis and Fall River offices. The attorneys must work competently in SCCLS’ case management system; work as directed on particular grants; cooperate and assist with the timely preparation of grant reports; and engage in outreach and community education. The attorney will manage a substantial caseload of individual cases, along with special projects, and engage in impact advocacy. Experience is preferred. Fluency in a second language such as Spanish, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Crioula, or Haitian Creole strongly preferred.
