Raytheon’s Office of General Counsel is seeking an attorney for its Labor and Employment group. Reporting to the Vice President, Legal – Labor and Employment, this job is primary responsible for confidential legal research, fact investigating, conducting and assisting with the preparation of labor and employment investigations, being the in-house resource to prepare or assist in the preparation of company responses to document demands in administrative and judicial matters. This position requires the individual to daily exercise discretion in independent judgment in the exercise of the following responsibilities:
· Depending on the nature and sophistication of the investigation, conduct or assist in the investigation of employment related complaints · Direct and assist Human Resources in the investigation of employment matters · Develop and assist in the development of training materials for the conduct of internal employment related investigations · Conduct and participate in investigative training of employment related complaints · Ensure complete and appropriate documentation of investigations · Organize documents and coordinate document production · Prepare privilege logs · Conduct various document searches and factual research · Prepare materials for case preparation · Conduct research and advise on compliance with federal and state labor and employment statutes, regulations and Executive Orders · Prepare agreements, documents related to litigation and non-litigation matters · Assess Human Resources policies for federal and state compliance · Maintain company litigation tracking program · Coordinate notice and correspondence with the company’s Employment Practices Liability Insurance carriers · Travel domestically to meet job responsibilities · Maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. · Communicate information and state problems or challenge to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous, nondiscriminatory and professional manner, and provide clarification, as necessary Required Skills: · Graduate of an accredited law school · Admitted to at least one state bar · 2 years related experience · Experience conducting research
