Kimberley K. Odums (formerly, Kirkland) – Director

Kimberley K. Odums (formerly, Kirkland) is an associate in the Boston office of Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart P.C. where she focuses her practice on employment litigation and counseling, and Data Privacy work. In her litigation practice, Kimberley represents clients in a wide array of employment disputes and provides defense against claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and a host of other federal and state labor and employment statutes. Kimberley’s practice includes single-plaintiff, class and collective action litigation in state and federal courts, and practice before US federal and state fair employment agencies.

Kimberley also advises clients on the full spectrum of labor and employment law matters including statutory compliance, antidiscrimination practices, employment policies, HR procedures, and best practices for avoiding litigation and developing positive employee relations.  Through her Data Privacy work, Kimberley provides advice regarding cybersecurity and privacy matters, including applicable state and federal information security requirements.

Out of the office, Kimberley participates in a number of pro bono organizations and has led and participated in various workshops and training programs for the Citizens Project and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice.

Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Kimberley was a Labor & Employment associate resident in the Boston office of another large international law firm, Morgan Lewis and Bockius, LLP.  In that role, Kimberley also defended corporate entities against toxic tort asbestos exposure claims and was a member of the firm’s Pro-bono Committee and Diversity Leadership Program.

Prior to working at Morgan Lewis, Kimberley began her legal career as a commercial litigation associate in a Western Massachusetts based firm, Fitzgerald Attorneys At Law, P.C., where she participated in all phases of litigation for consumer and business related matters, and handled employment claims before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Mrs. Odums received her J.D. with a Business Law concentration from Western New England University School of Law, and her B.A. in History and African & African American Studies from the Pennsylvania State University – University Park.  She is a member of the state bars of Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York.
