After ten weeks of preparation with volunteer attorneys from top area law firms, Boston and Chelsea Middle School students will head to court for An Evening of Mock Trials from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at the Moakley U.S. Courthouse. These budding trial lawyers–more than 100 middle school students will try cases before federal and state judges and juries made up of community members. Juries usually 12-16 people – law firm partners, families of students, elected officials, teachers. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer a past juror. We are honored to continue our partnership with Citizen Schools for so many of these trials.
I summon you to support our student attorneys by becoming a juror. As a juror, you will listen to a group of students conduct their trial, deliberate with your fellow jurors, and then deliver a much-anticipated verdict. It is a thrilling and very time efficient volunteer experience – also, your kids are welcome too as jurors!
