Eron Hackshaw is the Assistant Director for Government and Public Interest Careers in the Career Development & Public Service Office at Boston University School of Law. In this capacity he advises law students and alumni on all aspects of career planning and career development, designs and delivers programming to expose students to legal employers and the legal practice; and manages pipeline development and outreach for government and public interest legal employers.
Eron is a trained and certified Mediator and has mediated with the Harvard Law School Mediation Program, serving as Court Liaison for the Small Claims session in Chelsea District Court as well as a Community Mediator in the Roxbury Division, Boston Municipal Court. Eron’s other dispute resolution related activities include prior service on the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section Council as well as the board for the New England Association for Conflict Resolution (NEACR).
After graduating from law school in 2009, Eron joined the Banking and Leveraged Finance group at Bingham McCutchen (now part of Morgan Lewis). Spending four years as a transactional finance attorney, Eron focused his practice on representing first and second lien senior lenders, mezzanine investors, equity sponsors, and borrowers in a broad variety of secured and unsecured senior debt and mezzanine financing arrangements.
Eron is an active member of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association and has served on several committees, including the Marketing and Technology Committee, Programs Committee and the Gala Committee. Eron’s community service also includes serving a steward for Bethel AME Church in Jamaica Plain; serving on the board of Cambridge Symphony Orchestra as part of the Personnel Committee and Board Governance Committee; and serving as an incorporator and initial director of Boston Kids Comics Foundation.
