Overview:
The mission of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation.
The Office of Capital Markets Trends evaluates trends in securities offerings and the capital markets more generally. If selected, you will serve as a legal adviser responsible for a broad range of assignments including.
Typical duties include:
• Collaborating with staff throughout the Division and agency to facilitate sharing of securities offering information on registered and unregistered transactions and in evaluating new or novel securities offerings.
• Determining whether rules and regulations are keeping pace with the market and working effectively.
• Conducting research and selectively reviewing securities offering documents and coordinating the Division’s consideration of new products.
• Preparing written and oral guidance and observations on related issues and practices and determining the impact on the Division’s activities.
