About the Office:
As the chief law enforcement officer for Plymouth County, the Plymouth County District Attorney is responsible for the prosecution of misdemeanor and felony crimes in the district and superior courts of the county.
Job Description:
An Assistant District Attorney (A.D.A.) represents the Commonwealth in prosecuting individuals charged with criminal offenses. A.D.A.s manage a diverse caseload ranging from motor vehicle, domestic violence, drug and firearms related offenses to sexual assaults and other victim crimes and appear in court daily.
An A.D.A. will review police reports and other law enforcement documents, conduct legal research, confer with police, victims and witnesses and prepare and bring cases to trial.
This is an ideal opportunity for an energetic and highly motivated attorney to work with law enforcement officers in pursuit of public safety and criminal justice while developing and strengthening legal research, writing and litigation skills.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess Juris Doctorate, must be licensed by the Bar to practice law in the state of Massachusetts and must remain active with all Massachusetts bar annual requirements. The successful candidate will be required to pass a background investigation.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
