Tavares Brewington

Tavares Brewington is an Assistant Counsel at Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Company (UTC) with approximately 33,000 employees and facilities in jurisdictions around the world. In his current role, Mr. Brewington is responsible for managing Pratt & Whitney’s domestic and international government investigation matters as wells as the Company’s aviation products liability cases. He is also a member of UTC’s Global Compliance Working Group, which is responsible for creating and implementing compliance polices for all UTC’s businesses worldwide. Prior to joining Pratt & Whitney, Mr. Brewington was a litigation partner at Prince Lobel LLP. Mr. Brewington has significant experience representing local and national corporations in matters involving class action lawsuits, products liability, securities fraud, legal malpractice, health care fraud, and business litigation. Mr. Brewington has also represented corporations and individuals in government and internal investigations, and he has appeared in federal and state courts throughout the United States. While at Prince Lobel LLP, Mr. Brewington was a co-chair of the firm’s Sports and Entertainment Practice, which is comprised of a team of attorneys from across the firm who offer a variety of legal services to athletes, entertainers, and their advisors. Before joining Prince Lobel LLP, Mr.Brewington was an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, where he was assigned to the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force and Organized Crime Strike Force Units. As an AUSA, Mr. Brewington worked closely with the ATF, DEA, FBI, and Department of Homeland Security, and conducted multiple investigations resulting in the indictment and conviction of numerous defendants on charges including firearms trafficking and drug trafficking conspiracy.

Tavares is also the Regional Director for the National Bar Association, the nation’s oldest and largest association of African American lawyers and judges.
