MBLA Student Scholarships:
The Honorable Chief Justice Roderick L. Ireland Leadership and Juvenile Advocacy Award was established to support the development of students who, like Chief Justice Ireland, have exhibited a commitment to outstanding leadership and a passion for juvenile advocacy.
The Honorable Reginald Lindsay Public Service Award seeks to support the development of students who, like Judge Lindsay, have overcome adversity to use their outstanding academic ability and skills in public service.
The Fletcher “Flash” Wiley MBLA Legacy Scholarship Award seeks to support the development of students who, like Past MBLA President Fletcher “Flash” Wiley, display academic and professional excellence, exhibit a commitment to diversity and inclusion through leadership and volunteerism, and demonstrate a conviction to “lift as they climb.”
Law Student Members may apply for each of the three MBLA scholarships offered: The Honorable Justice Roderick L. Ireland Leadership and Juvenile Advocacy Award ($1,500), The Honorable Reginald Lindsay Public Service Award ($1,000), and the Fletcher “Flash” Wiley MBLA Legacy Award (2 Students up to $5,000 each). Although students may apply for more than one scholarship, no student will be awarded more than one scholarship in any given year. https://mablacklawyers.
Margolis & Bloom Estate Planning Scholarship – Margolis & Bloom, LLP, an estate and elder law planning firm with a principal office in Wellesley, is offering two $1,000 scholarships a year through the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association to Massachusetts law students interested in the field of estate planning.
